Chlorinated Polypropylene (CPP)

Appearance : White or slightly yellow granular solid

Chlorinated Polypropylene (CPP) is a thermoplastic resin made from chemical modified of polypropylene. Melting point is from 80-160 ºC, depends on the content of chlorine, dissolving point from 120-200 ºC, solving in alkylogen, toluene, butyrate. It has good abrasive resistance, acid resistance and antioxidation.

Chlorinated Polypropylene

Chlorinated Polypropylene is used as paint, adhesion promoter for polypropylene (PP), adhesive for PP, anticorrosive coating and gravure ink. It is a excellent adhesion promoters for a number of applications. It is a transparent, hard and brittle thermoplastic resin, prepared for aliphatic hydrocarbon polymer, such as polypropylene. It is readily soluble in organic solvents, such as toluene, xylene and esters.

When applied, Chlorinated Polypropylene embodies a transparent, hard glass like firm, which is resistant to the permeation of moisture and oxygen gas and also shows high chemical resistance. Chlorinated Polypropylene protests the substrates from corrosion and also serves as a top coating for decorative purpose.

Properties of Chlorinated Polypropylene

Good stability excellent adhesion compatible with many other resins. Excellent pigment wetting, good solubility, excellent durability / weathering oil resistant heat resistant excellent film hardness

Application :

- Print inks

- Top coat

- Concrete sealer

- Primer coat

- Alkyd modifier

Low Chlorine content products

Polypropylene is useful, but very difficult to find a good adhesive. The best solution to this problem is to use low chlorine content Chlorinated Polypropylene as an adhesive. Low chlorine content Chlorinated Polypropylene is a nearly transparent and slightly elastic thermoplastic resin readily soluble in organic solvents.

It gives good adhesion to polypropylene, and is used as paint adhesion promoter for polypropylene, adhesive for polypropylene. Also it can be easily heat-sealed with untreated or pre-treated polypropylene film. So it is used as the main component of printing ink with chlorinated ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer.
